Science Ambassadors
Finding the scientist in you … February 2023
It is my absolute pleasure to introduce to our school community our all-new St Boniface Science Council! The Council is made up of eight Science Ambassadors and six Deputy Science Ambassadors from across all corridors from Year 2 to Year 6!
An announcement was made to the children in January that we wanted to create this Council to help raise the profile of Science across our whole school community, and invited the children to submit their applications to be a Science Ambassador.
A Science Ambassador has a variety of jobs, for example, helping teachers set up science lessons, run a science fair, have a leading role in Science Week. He/She should be enthusiastic about science, keen to develop their communication skills, share their enthusiasm for science (finding the scientist in everyone!) and think of some great ideas to help bring science to more people in our school community!
From the very high standard of applications received, a shortlist was drawn up and interviews were held this week. The announcement of our newly-formed Science Council was made to the children on Thursday, 9th February! Well done everyone!
As every awesome Science Ambassador needs an awesome badge, the children were invited to enter the Science Ambassador badge logo competition. Again, there were so many high quality designs which made our job very tricky indeed! However, two designs were chosen (one for the Science Ambassador badge and one for the Deputy Science Ambassador badge) – well done to those two Year 3 winners, Callum and Francesca!
