Absence and Attendance
If your child is off school for any reason, we need a parent to call or email the Office by 9am: 0208 672 5874
If your child has had Diarrhoea and vomited, we ask you keep them home until 48 hours from their last episode. This is the recommended guideline to ensure that the bugs are not passed onto classmates.
Children gain the most from their education when they attend school regularly, on time and in a fit condition to learn. If the Office do not hear from the parent that morning, they must call to safeguard the child.
- The school should have written notification of reasons for absence if there are appointments. These may be used by the Educational Welfare Officer.
- The school will only authorise the absence of a child for exceptional reasons and only on receipt of a written note of explanation.
- Parents are requested to book their holidays to coincide with school holidays. A list of holiday dates is sent to all parents at the start of each year. Holidays taken during school time may be authorised at the Headteachers discretion. Please email the above admin email address with your request.
- Written permission must be obtained from the Head for any extended absence other than sickness.
Children’s attendance and punctuality is closely monitored by the school and the Education Welfare Officer. Wandsworth and St Boniface RC Primary, strive to have all children at 96% attendance, as shown below.
