Isle of Wight - Monday 17th June
What a day! We had a very smooth journey and enjoyed the crossing to the IOW on the ferry! When we arrived at the hotel, we had a bit of time to unpack before heading straight to the beach and enjoying some time playing with our friends and taking our first dip in the sea! After a yummy dinner, we enjoyed a lovely walk from Shanklin along the promenade back to Sandown before taking an old tube train from Sandown to Shanklin, which was fun. That brought us to bedtime and the end of our first day. Tomorrow is our surprise activity - we are all looking forward to it!
Isle of Wight - Tuesday 18th June
After a good night’s sleep and tasty breakfast, we were ready for our second day on the IOW! The weather was rainy in the morning but we were determined not to let it spoil our fun! We walked into Shanklin town before lunch to visit some of the shops; then it was time for our surprise activity... a water-sports session! We played lots of games and had a great time. After dinner, it was time to head to Shanklin theatre to see a show - there was lots of singing and dancing which we all enjoyed. Another great day!
Isle of Wight - Wednesday 19th June
We started the day with a walk into Shanklin for some souvenir shopping and then we went back to the theatre and had a workshop with some of the stars of last night’s show! We learnt about the lighting, music & staging; we also got to jump on the stage ourselves and put on our own show! Another highlight was when Norbert magically turned into Dame Norbertina - he was a great sport! After the workshop, we had lunch and headed back to the beach for a few more games and a final dip on the sea. Tomorrow... the long walk!
Isle of Wight - Thursday 20th June
Today was a special day because it was the day of the long walk but it was also Zoe-Joan’s birthday! We celebrated with a birthday song at breakfast and a cake during the disco! We started our long walk at Yarmouth along some lovely country paths, spotting some swans, before we made it to the very beautiful Freshwater Bay for lunch. After a bit of a climb, we had a great view of the bay from above and then walked on until we reached Tennyson Downs. En route to the Needles, we saw lots of cows and then we walked on to our last stop: Alum Bay where we were delighted to see the coach! In the evening, we had another tasty dinner before getting ready for the disco. What a great day! One more stop tomorrow before we head home... Blackgang Chine!
Isle of Wight - Friday 21st June
One final stop before we head home - Blackgang Chine! We got to ride the water slide and the Cliffhanger as well visiting some dinosaurs! We’ve had a great time and are looking forward to seeing you all again soon!
